Fringe Friday: Week of October 8th

five things i’m into this week on the fringes of music, culture, art & life

“In 2016, the feminist press Emily Books held a panel in Brooklyn titled, a bit cheekily, “What Is Women’s Writing?” There was no consensus, much laughter and a warm, rowdy vibe. Eileen Myles read from a memoir in progress and Ariana Reines read a poem, wearing a dress with a pattern of a city on fire. All of this felt exactly right.” FROM “THE NEW VANGUARD” BY THE NEW YORK TIMES.

  1. i like: negative underwear // white whipped set
anything whipped and marshmallow-like. texture matters.

  2. i also like: period proof (beautiful) underwear // thinx
it’s been that kind of week. learning to celebrate my period and not feel ashamed or annoyed by it means making it easier. and celebrating this beautiful, mysterious thing called being a woman. thinx might just change everything.

  3. NEW TRACK: “LIGHT ON” // MAGGIE ROGERS
my world stops every time maggie drops a track so i can sail away with her sound. “light on” is her latest release from her new album, “heard it in a past life.” i love everything about this title, this song, this woman. go girl.

  4. thinking about: women helping women
an article on outsourcing to up-level your entrepreneurial game. uplevel solutions is a Woman-owned outsourcing company whose creating jobs for women overseas,

  5. good read about good reads: “the new vanguard” // new york times.
nyt book review critics recommended 15 books written by women of the 21-century. this list is putting new authors on my radar and making my seriously reconsider fiction. (it’s been awhile, tbh.)
